Malaysia has no shortage of talented game designers, talent, and developers, especially for mobile. With only one of the three major console makers recognising Malaysia, you can see why smartphones and PC tend to be our local designer’s target market.
Recently, wrapped in an announcement of a new big-name hire, Double Eleven, announced that they are opening an office in Malaysia to tap the talents here. Interestingly enough, their offices are going to be located in Bangsar South, a hub of local game developers, instead of Cyberjaya or Putrajaya.
The UK based game developer and publisher were founded by former Rockstar Games Developer, Lee Hutchinson and Matt Shepcar. Double Eleven’s portfolio includes some notable titles like the Pixel Junk series, Goat Simulator, Prison Architect, and a few not so notable ones.
Looks like games development has a bright future in the country.
