Interviewing Dasha Logan

According to Google Doc this story was written almost a month ago. I won’t speculate why the story has been held back. The story is showing its age, like a piece in a magazine. But, not something I would expect in a newspaper.

When writing about the son or daughter of a famous public figure, I make it a point to bury the fact as deep in the story as I can. Unless they introduce themselves as “Hi! I’m the son/daughter of so and so”, all progeny wants success based on their own merits.

Besides, mentioning a famous parent’s name before the actual person you’re writing about feels cheap.

I think I interviewed Dasha through the phone. You can see the story’s age by the number of times MCO is mentioned and the mention of an online event. It’s been months now and it is all about the new normal instead.

You can also see that I keep asking the same thing to young musicians: “How do you consume your music?”, “What do you listen to?”, “How do you discover new music?”, and “How do your fans discover you?”.

The landscape of music discoverability is something I am curious about. There is nothing worse you can do with music than just staying in a bubble.
