Here is a 23-year-old who started a YouTube show talking to 30-year-olds about what they learned in their 20’s. An aspiring TV personality by day and a radio announcer by night. And did I mention that his name is Keanu Azman?

Two of my contacts (siblings actually), recommended Keanu for the Next Gen pages. The page has always been a challenge to fill. The subjects must be under 30 years old. The difficult part is to find someone with a story that did not start from a privileged position. That last requirement is of my own making.

In Keanu’s story, he has always aspired to be on TV, but thanks to some innate talents and a chain of fortunate events, he became the night guy on Hitz. But, don’t think that he got to where he is on pure luck. 

The interview was done over the phone almost a month before the story was published. Talking to Keanu, you will get the sense that he puts a lot of thought in what he does. He is not just there for the ride nor is he complacently lounging in his comfort zone.

One thing I learn from his story is how a spark of chance could ignite an innate flame of something greater.
