One Of Many

Board games were once my thing. But, it got too expensive and trying to get enough people together to play began to feel like herding cats. I had to turn things down to casual and it was still fun

So, when I was given this assignment via text, I was excited. Sure it was just two screenshots of their mobile FB page, but board games was my thing. As I did a little more digging on this board game cafe I found nothing about it stood out.

So I asked the one who gave me the assignment: what made this board game cafe special? Sure it has a take home board game rental service, which actually brought  up more questions, but that is no reason to dedicate a write-up about it in a national newspaper.

The answer that I got was: go find out. I wasn’t complaining. It was an easy job. The only setback was the slow rate that I got my replies from the proprietor of the board game cafe.

In the end I don’t see much point to the story. It didn’t help that the person I was interviewing via email didn’t have a strong grasp of English. So the more difficult and interesting questions were often misunderstood leaving only canned marketing answers.

The story got almost a whole page. Which was mind boggling. As if they are advertisers. But they weren’t.
