A Philanthropist By Choice, A Story By Chance

This story began as just a name I dropped during the weekly waste of time. It is a ritual no other editor I have ever worked with insists on doing. I suspect this is because they all know their jobs and know how to do it. There is no need for theatre until now.

I knew next to nothing about Aliff. He had a picture of himself holding a certificate of appreciation from a hospital and that was good enough for me to suggest his name as one of the three ideas for that week.

The interview was done via voicemail, with some texting on the side through a PA.

Throughout the whole thing, I wondered where he found the money and time to do all of it: the work, the charity, and the physical stuff. It’s a perk of being one of the privileged I suppose. Or is there something else.
