About A Cat That Vomits Thunder

I knew of his work before I ever met him, and I knew him as Vomit Thunder before I ever knew his real name. We first met at Michael Chuah’s Tun M exhibition, sometime in October last year. The face didn’t match the name. Michael had to point him out.

We met again briefly at the day of the launch of the My Toys 2.0 Exposure at Greydea Studio. I was in a hurry, so we did the interview over email instead. While I was there, I did get the contacts of another artist, an illustrator. She is getting her own story later.

Anyway, in the interview VT explained that the name comes from a Cantonese saying that is used to express exaggeration. Art folks really put a lot of thought in the names they chose. I really liked the design of The Cat That Vomits Thunder that he created. And I especially liked the story behind it. I feel exactly like the cat does, dead on the inside because of the job. He had them for sale at the exhibition, but I did not have the cash. Pay was late again, and I only received half.
