Who knew we had stop motion animators in Malaysia? Who knew the art is still kept alive? This was one of the stories that I wished was done in a face to face interview. But because of the weekly deadline and, I admit, my preference for remote interviews at the time, this story was done through an email interview.

The introvert in me loves email interviews, minimal human contact. However, not all interviewees can handle it and, in this case, the subject matter should have gotten a more in-depth look.

The story has a voice of self-promotion to it. And I realised that some interviewees look at these interviews that way. Not as a story to be told but as an opportunity to promote. I had to learn to spot when they see it one way or the another and adjust accordingly.
