The woodworking couple

Thanks to the Adi and Aida, this was an easy story to do. The folks have experience working with public relations, they understood that doing a remote interview is the best way to stay safe, and they had photos to spare.

The core of the story to me was how woodworking is making a comeback in an artisanal way. However, unlike what we see on YouTube, we don’t have big stores selling lumber, we don’t have garages, and most folks now live in apartments. Where does one find the space let alone get the materials to practice the craft?

As a couple, the two also hold workshops for kids and women. And that was weird to me. I understand why one would teach woodworking to children differently, but why a specific class for women?

In the end, I figured that a small part of it all is some much-needed marketing.
