Acer introduces new ConceptD PCs

The Taiwan PC maker, Acer, recently announced new additions to its ConceptD PC series. The new computers include a desktop and two laptops. They are designed to continue the series’ appeal to professional and enthusiasts.

ConceptD 300

What makes the ConceptD 300 unique is apparent from its design that combines rounded edges, with a white finish, and wood panelling. IT is as if Acer took design queues from the 1960s and the 1980s and made them contemporary, and maybe a little bit futuristic.

At its highest current configuration, the 18L mid-sized desktop can hold a 10th Gen Intel® Core™ i7 processor, an NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3070 graphics and 64 GB of DDR4 2666 MHz memory. To complete the package Asus includes a 4 TB HDD and a 1 TB of fast PCIe M.2 SSD storage.

As a whole, the ConceptD 300 loos to be made for the creators, the creatives, and the bold.

ConceptD 7 and ConceptD 7 Pro

These laptops continue the desktop’s clean white look, but they do not stand out. They feature a ceramic coating for durability and improved cooling for performance. They are not ultrathin, which is not a bad thing. However, there are no wood panelling or curved edges.

Both laptops are fitted with15.6in UHD (3840 x 2160) 4K IPS display with all the colour accuracy bells and whistles. Cooling its 10th Gen Intel® Core™ processor is Acer’s own ‘Vortex Flow’ active cooling system which is required to maintain performance.

What makes one of the models a Pro is the inclusion of an NVIDIA® Quadro RTX™ 5000 GPU.

Expect multiple ports on these laptops: USB 3.2 Gen 2, Thunderbolt™ 3, and USB-C. A nice balance between form (slim with few ports) and practical usefulness (lots of ports). There’s also a Corning® Gorilla® Glass touchpad and Wi-Fi 6.

No official local availability and pricing was given. But, we can speculate that if these the new ConceptD reach our shores, it would be at the end of this year the soonest.
