Freezers, those that open from the top, are very underrated. They are very energy efficient (more so than a refrigerator), the best way to store most foods for a long period (even when the power goes off), and they last (if my mum doesn’t her hands on them).
Recently Hisense announced three new freezers all with features such as low temperatures and fast cooling in the form of ‘super freeze’ and ‘3D cooling’. They tout that the freezers can be kept below zero degrees for up to 135 hours without power. Under controlled conditions of course.
However, the most intriguing feature of these freezers is the ‘ultrathin hinges’, ‘hovering door’, ‘LED lighting’, and ‘white inner wall design’.
Translating these from marketing to plain English ‘ultrathin hinges’ means you can put it closer to a wall and the door would still open. ‘Hovering Door’ means the door stars open at multiple angles, this is both a convenience and a safety feature. ‘LED lighting’ refers to the light built into the lid that points into the freezer, so you can see what is inside a rare feature. Finally, ‘white inner wall design’ means the inside of the fridge is durable and easy to clean.
If you’re interested, the three freezers are the 128L (FC128D4BWP) (RM809), 178L (FC186D4BWP) (RM1,049), and 248L (FC256D4BWP) (RM1,229). Those numbers are the freezer’s gross capacity (maximum capacity). And as you can see, the prices are pretty good. They are excellent for homes, not just for businesses.
