Some end of the year gaming updates on Apple Arcade

There are two new consoles out there duking it out for your holiday money. They are hard to find, still full of duds, and by this time next year, there’s probably a slim or a pro version you wished you saved up for. But, if you have Apple Arcade, here is what you can look forward to right now.

Two new puzzle games tops the Apple Arcade new releases for 2021.

Nuts, is a first person puzzle game with a unique look by Noodlecake Studios. It in you play as a rookie field researcher tasked with investigating the unusual activities of a dray of squirrels.

In your kit are still cameras, video cameras, motion sensors, thermal cameras, sound recorders, and more. Use these tools to find out what those nut loving bushy tailed enigmas are up to.

Who doesn’t love match three games? Well, Spire Blast by Orbital Knight is one of those, but in 3D and with PHYSICS! That means the blocks don’t behave like they do in other games. And at the same time, there are dragons that are trying to mess up your plans to take these towers down.

In addition to new games, there is also another feature of the Apple Arcade that is often overlooked, but will make you come back for more: UPDATES!

Mini Motorways, that addictive and minimalistic looking game where you build roads of a major city, gets daily and weekly challenges in addition to two new cities, Manila and Rio de Janeiro, in the Daily Detour update.

In the spirit of the holiday season Skate City rewards players who check in daily with special decks, ugly sweaters, Santa suits, and more through December 31. But, for those who missed it , there are still new gear and music to enjoy.

Over 120 new designs are added to Patterned. These features patterns from Central America, South America, Iceland, Scandinavia, and Western Europe. There’s also new Game Centre achievements and leaderboards.

PAC-MAN Party Royale finally adds couch co-op. That means the ability for multiple players to play on the same Apple device. But, you’ll need up to four controllers for this to work. And there’s a Winter Theme for the mazes now too.

Just when you think you’ve done it all in Sneaky Sasquatch, not only is there more you can do but they keep adding more stuff! This time it’s snowman building, battle royals-style snowball fight events, and new holiday rewards like house decorations, Santa hat, and more.

So, yeah, there is a lot to look forward to in Apple Arcade this Christmas and to usher in 2021.
