Apple Podcasts: Soon with channels and subscriptions

Podcasts just got better for both the listener and the content creator. Apple announced that next month, listeners in more than 170 countries and regions can sign up for premium subscriptions that include a variety of benefits curated by creators, such as ad-free listening, access to additional content, and early or exclusive access to new series.

As someone who has been listening to podcasts since it went mainstream 15 years ago, this is a welcomed change. Podcasters need to make money too, but as a listener who wants to support them managing all those Patreons can be a hassle and costly.

Also coming to Apple Podcasts next month is channels. These are groups of shows curated by creators with unique titles, descriptions, and artwork that promote discovery of shows you might like. Something that is sorely needed in the saturated podcast landscape.

For creators, there is the Apple Podcast for Creators website and an updated Apple Podcasts Connect dashboard. Tool to utilise the new enhancements and features.
