The On-Site Solar Panels Dell Installed In Penang Is Their World’s Biggest

Dell spent RM2.25 million to put a solar photo voltaic system on the Dell Technologies Asia Pacific Customer Centre (APCC2) in Bukit Mertajam, Penang. It is the first for a Dell Technology Facility in Southeast Asia.

The system consists of 1,590 highly efficient panels. Together they are rated to produce 1,000 MWh of power, but Dell uses 700kWp from it to power 25% of the production lines at the 24-hour facility.

For you eco-nerds, Dell aims to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions of the facility by about 650 metric tonnes annually.

The project is a part of the Dell Technologies’ Progress Made Real 2030 goals to advance sustainability.
