PRU.my, a new online polling platform has reported that 12,963 people signed up to cast their predictions for Malaysia’s 15th general election (GE15). A total of 935,714 predictions covering all contested seats at the parliament and state assembly levels were recorded.
Founded by Silentmode Sdn Bhd a technology company from Bangi, PRU.my was meant to be a way for Malaysians to predict one of the most unpredictable general elections in Malaysia’s history.
Secondarily, the site was also meant to encourage voting.
Two participants, Amar Muhd (21) and Faisal Abdullah Bada (36) set a high score of 78. They predicted 171 correct votes were the closest to predicting the actual results of GE15.
Amar and Faisal each received a 10th Generation iPad.
PRU.my was built as a project by a group of interns and newly hired staff at Silentmode, a technology company that provides the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model for F&B and fuel retail management.
While I feel the URL seems is an excellent get, the “prediction” part of the site is questionable. The need for registration means they collect personal information and the prize makes it look like gambling.
