That app that turns the Apple Watch Ultra into a dive computer is here. Designed by Huish Outdoors in collaboration with Apple, Oceanic+ is for recreational scuba divers who are planning to dive down to 40 metres, or 130 feet.
Although the Apple Watch Ultra can survive 10BAR or depths of up to 100m, the app and some functionality of the Apple Watch Ultra cannot.
I don’t have an Apple Watch Ultra and haven’t dived in a few years, so if you want to read the whole spiel about the Apple Watch Ultra and the Oceanic+ app, here’s the like to the Apple Newsroom.
My thoughts on the Apple Watch Ultra are I like it because I like big watches and I wished Apple would make a non-Ultra version with titanium and sapphire crystal as well. As tough as the Apple Watch Series 8 is, titanium and sapphire are tougher.
