Lenovo’s Refreshed Yoga 9i Is Here And It’s Meh?

The new 14-inch Lenovo Yoga 9i has landed in Malaysia with a thud. At RM7,209 (online) or RM7,299 at a Lenovo Exclusive Stores, the 2-in-1 laptop comes with a 13th Gen Intel Core i7-1360P processor, Intel Iris Xe graphics, and 16GB of LPDDR5 5200MHz RAM (soldered).

It runs Windows 11 Pro 64 and is preloaded with Microsoft Office Trail (with several upgrade options).

Buying online gives buyers the option of either a 512 GB or 1TB solid-state drive and either an HDR 500 compatible 14-inch 2.8K OLED panel with a 90Hz refresh rate or a higher resolution 14-inch WQUXGA display.

The RAM is too small and there’s nothing exciting about it. Even if you throw in “the world’s first Bowers & Wilkins rotating soundbar”, FHD webcam with two mics, backlit keyboard, fingerprint reader and stylus, it just doesn’t add up.

To sweeten the deal, those who buy the Yoga 9i at a Lenovo Exclusive Store between 11 and 26 February will also get a Lenovo 27-inch Gaming Monitor QHD (LG27q-30), a Yoga Mouse with Laser Pointer, and Grab Gift Vouchers. While stocks lasts.

However, when compared to an M2 MacBook Air with it’s starting price of RM5,499, I’d rather get a RM3,315 discount than have the value of the gratuity gifts dangle in front of me.
