Logitech G Pro X Sensible Looking Gaming Peripheral — A Brief

Logitech, on Wednesday (6 Sept), launched its G PRO X series of peripherals that includes the

G PRO X TKL LIGHTSPEED Gaming Keyboard, Logitech G PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2 Gaming Mouse and Logitech G PRO X 2 LIGHTSPEED Gaming Headset.

While marketed as gaming devices, the series’ keyboard, mouse and headset look practical and contemporary while boasting performance, quality and technology.

The Logitech G PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2 Gaming Mouse uses a hybrid optical-mechanical switch for speed and reliability, along with a sensitive sensor that would work when the mouse is lifted or tilted.

The Logitech G PRO X TKL Wireless Gaming Keyboard takes less space without a number pad, has pride lights, and can be wired or wireless. Standard-sized dual-shot PBT keycaps mean it doesn’t shine or fade with use and are also replaceable. It comes with a carrying case and the option of either tactile (GX Brown), linear (GX Red) or clicky (GX Blue) switches.

G HUB peripheral management software and Onboard Memory Management software (OMM) lets users customise the performance of the mouse and keyboard

Opinion

These are expensive for commercial “gaming” (read as premium) peripherals, even more so for us common folk.

For a writer (read as a professional typist) or someone who types a lot (for work, leisure, or study), the PRO x TKL is attractive, but there are cheaper options, especially the ones without pride lights and are wired only. Quality switches and PBT dual shot key-caps are a must.

Here’s a tip for fellow writers: get brown switches if you are working in an office and blue switches if you are working from home.
