Remember that meme about a person riding a bicycle who takes a stick, shoves it into their bicycle spokes, falls, and then blames it all on someone else?
When Nintendo released the teaser for its next gaming console, the Switch 2, its shares plummeted. Sources like The Wall Street Journal and Reuters said the presentation was underwhelming and lacked details.
Gaming media did not welcome the reveal with excitement either, citing that most of what was revealed was leaked previously and disseminated by the same gaming media.
Since previews are not meant to be a tell-all and spoilers spoil, what is the point of this self-defeating behaviour? Why not ignore the spoilers, not speculate, and form opinions based only on official information and firsthand experience? There is no harm in that.
Despite Nintendo not holding a Switch 2 Experience event in Malaysia, I am still looking forward to the Nintendo Direct for the new device on 4 February and will reserve my opinions till then.
