Epson is turning 50th & All They Did Was Send A Boring Press Release

In a press release dated 20 June, Epson announced that the brand is turning 50 in July, which is a rather unexciting read.

In so many words, the company said it was great, it was doing great, and it would continue to do what it was doing (being great).

It also stated that it launched its first digital electronic printer in 1967, before establishing the Epson brand in 1975, and that it was established in Malaysia in 1991.

The company is based in Japan and does more than just manufacture printers, by the way.

I usually skip this kind of press release unless I am riffing on it. But Epson is special.

Among photographers, Epson is the printer of choice. If you plan to make large prints regularly, consider an Epson.

Epson printers are also excellent for home use. The prices are fair, the quality is outstanding, and Epson is trustworthy when it comes to their inks.

In addition to that, Epson is not on the BDS boycott list.

So, Happy 50th Epson.

P.S.: The company’s full name is Seiko Epson Corporation.
