In Brief: Oppo Reno14 Series In Malaysia

Oppo launched its Reno14 series of devices in Malaysia on 1 July; however, it will only be available starting 12 July. Here is a brief overview of the devices.

There are three devices in the series: the Reno14 Pro 5G, the Reno14 5G, and the Reno14 F 5G.

Reno14 Pro 5G

This top-of-the-line model had one variant. The one with the 12GB of memory and 512GB of storage was priced at RM2,999. It had a more capable 6.83-inch display and came in white or grey. Reno14 5G

This middle-tier model had two variations, both of which had 12GB of memory. The one with 512GB of storage was priced at RM2,599, and the one with 256GB of memory was priced at RM2,199. It featured a 6.59-inch display and was available in white or green. Reno14 F 5G 

This model had three variants. The one with 12GB of memory and 512GB of storage was priced at RM1,799, the one with 12GB of memory and 256GB of storage was priced at RM1,599, and the one with 8GB of memory and 256GB of storage was priced at RM1,399. It featured a 6.57-inch display and was available in blue, green, and pink. There are five key features of the Reno14 series devices that Oppo highlights: design, enhanced flash photography, image processing, productivity tools, and hardware enhancements.

Design

The backs of the Reno14 series devices were embedded with a pearlescent decoration that resembled a flair fluttering like a fishtail, fans like a flower, and feathers at its edges. 

Only the Reno14 Pro 5G Reno14 5G featured glass backs with aluminum frame

The devices were also dust- and water-resistant.

All Reno14 devices had AMOLED displays.

Enhanced Flash Photography

Oppo claims that the Reno14 devices utilise a combination of hardware and software features to enhance the appearance of photos taken with flash photography. It was said to be especially effective at close range.

Additionally, the Reno14 Pro and Reno14 featured a 50MP sensor with a 28mm to 85mm equivalent zoom.

Image Processing

According to Oppo, the Reno14 devices, especially the Reno14 Pro and Reno 14, can take better photos and short clips simultaneously.

The Reno14 devices also featured a suite of photo editing tools. 

Oppo said that one of these tools could generate composition and edit suggestions.

It also stated that another tool could correct the faces of subjects taken at an inopportune moment by referencing previous photos.

Other tools included one that could remove unwanted elements in a photo, remove reflections, increase the resolution of a picture, and sharpen blurry images. 

Oppo also said that the Reno14 Pro and Reno14 can take better videos.

Productivity Tools

Oppe also included productivity tools in the Reno14 series of devices. These tools could organise Information and make it searchable, record calls, and summarise calls, as well as transcribe media.

There was also a tool to translate text, but only the Reno14 Pro and the Reno14 could translate calls. 

Hardware Enhancements

The Reno14 devices utilised improved hardware—such as processors and coolers—and software to manage power usage, thereby enhancing performance in terms of ability and connectivity.

For power, the Reno14 Pro 5G had a 6.2Ah battery, while the Reno14 and Reno14 F had 6Ah batteries. All with fast charging. 

Oppo promised that all Reno14 devices that ran ColorOS 15 would receive five major ColorOS upgrades.
