This is one of those eateries I would just walk by, assuming the prices are too high and the portions too small. But on a recommendation, I gave it a try, and although the price is on the high side, it was worth it.
Two Sons Bistro was very proud of its clams, so I ordered a big pot (900g) of Lemon Butter Clams for RM50 and a carafe of Sparkling Lemonade (4-5 glasses) for RM20. I shared, of course. The potions were alright until the sneaky service charge and tax came in. The total was RM81.20.
I ordered the clams with a side of Mini Mantao Buns and Garlic Bread. Most of the weight of the clams was in their shells, and most of the flavour was in the gravy. The bulk of the meal was the bread, dipped in the sauce and sprinkled with bits of clam. It would be nice ifa it came with more bread, or two portions of well-cooked, well-seasoned pasta instead.
As expensive as it was, it was the average price for a meal for two at a restaurant nowadays. The quality was excellent, but the portions could be better.
Two Sons Bistro has six branches, all located in costly locations. The one I went to was at Pavilion KL. A good place for the occasional treat. Something else on the menu could be a better fill. So I might give it another try.
