Epson Promotes Eco-Friendly Inkjet Printers for Southeast Asian Workplaces

Epson has announced initiatives to promote its business inkjet printers as a more environmentally responsible option for workplaces in Southeast Asia.

The company highlights three features of its inkjet technology: low dust emissions, no heat during printing, and reduced maintenance.

A study by the Korea Testing & Research Institute (KTL), conducted at Epson’s request using KS X ISO/IEC 28360-1:2018 standards, found low levels of fine (0.1–2.5 µm) and ultrafine (≤0.1 µm) dust emissions from selected Epson models (AM-C4000, AM-C400, L6490) under specific chamber test conditions.

Epson states that its Heat-Free Technology reduces electricity consumption by up to 85% compared to certain laser printers. This is based on testing commissioned by Epson and conducted by Keypoint Intelligence (data as of September 2020, using models in the 65–70 ppm class and Epson WorkForce Enterprise WF-C21000 at 100 ppm).

It also reports that its inkjet printers require up to 59% fewer replacement parts during maintenance for printing 1 million pages, compared to a selected competitor laser model, according to Keypoint Intelligence testing (using Epson WorkForce Enterprise WF-C20600 at 60 ppm and ISO24712 test pattern).

Epson notes that internal model simulations show potential cost savings of up to 53% from optimizing printer fleets depending on usage. Data from Epson Remote System (February 2023–June 2025, average 1,700 devices in Southeast Asia) shows that 98% of print jobs on A3 machines are A4 format.

To assist businesses, Epson offers the Right Fleet Solution, a three-phase consultative process:

– Phase 1: Free assessment of the current print environment to identify inefficiencies.
– Phase 2: Design an optimised fleet based on actual usage data.
– Phase 3: Proposal with projected cost and energy savings, incorporating Epson inkjet printers.

Jester Cruz, Senior Regional Manager for Corporate Products at Epson Southeast Asia, stated that procurement decisions balance fiscal and environmental factors. The company’s technologies, combined with fleet consultation, help organisations improve efficiency and reduce unnecessary hardware.

The announcement was made in Subang Jaya on March 5, 2026. For more details, Epson directs to its website.
