Barcelona, March 4, 2026 – OPPO and MediaTek displayed on-device AI features at MediaTek’s “AI for Life” keynote during Mobile World Congress 2026.
President of OPPO Research Institute Jason Liao discussed the company’s work in AI for smartphones.
Using MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 platform, OPPO’s AI Translate and AI Portrait Glow run on the device. They will be added to the Find X9 Series with the ColorOS 16 update.
AI Translate provides multilingual translation with 15% higher accuracy than previous methods and works without internet.
AI Portrait Glow adjusts portraits in low or backlit conditions.
They previewed Omni, an on-device model that handles voice, video, and text for scene understanding and Q&A.
At the MediaTek booth, visitors saw the Find X9 Pro’s telephoto imaging and Reno15 Pro’s AI tools, including Motion Photo Eraser, Motion Photo Popout, and Flash Photography.
Android Quick Share, developed with Google, will allow file transfers between OPPO devices and iOS, iPadOS, or macOS without third-party apps starting in March.
The Find X9 Pro was shortlisted for the “Best Smartphone” award at the GLOMO Awards.
OPPO and MediaTek plan to continue collaborating on on-device AI.
