A new TV show, the New Folk Song Gala: Selangor Edition, launched on March 11 as a joint project between Tourism Selangor and Guangxi Radio and Television of China. 

The programme uses music and stories to showcase Selangor’s tourism spots.

The show aims to connect Malaysia and China.

Selangor was chosen for this edition.

One highlight is the folk song ‘Ikan Kekek,’ performed by Malaysian singer Layla Sania and Chinese singer Wu Keyue.

Filming took place at spots like the Sultan Alam Shah Museum, Sunway Lagoon, Mi Le Garden, Villa Chee, IOI City Mall, Sky Mirror, and Malawati Hill.

Other featured places include the Forest Research Institute Malaysia, Batu Caves, and the fishing village of Pulau Ketam.

Local partners such as PADAT, IOI Group, Sunway Lagoon, Pearl Holiday, HL Dragon Fruit Eco Farm, and Dking supported the production.

Tourism Selangor also held a meeting with over 60 travel agents to develop new tour packages with Guangxi.
