Apple has begun commemorating its 50th anniversary with a series of events around the world, kicking off with a headline performance by 17-time Grammy Award winner Alicia Keys at Apple Grand Central in New York City on March 13.

The special concert featured Keys performing a selection of her most well-known songs.

The milestone anniversary will be celebrated throughout the month with gatherings across the globe. 

Alicia Keys, known for her genre-defying music and innovative approach to performance, has a long-standing relationship with the tech giant. She was among the first artists to release her full catalogue in Spatial Audio on Apple Music and has previously headlined an Apple Music Live event. 

In 2024, her creative process was featured in “Alicia Keys: Rehearsal Room,” one of the inaugural Apple Immersive experiences for the Apple Vision Pro headset.

The anniversary celebrations are expected to continue in major cities worldwide.
