Pos Malaysia is inviting Malaysian students aged 9 to 15 to enter the 55th International Letter-Writing Competition for Young People 2026, organised annually by the Universal Postal Union.
The theme is “Write a letter to a friend about why human connection matters in a digital world”. Entries must be handwritten, no longer than 800 words, and may include drawings or illustrations. They will be judged on letter format, adherence to the theme, creativity and use of language.
Prizes in the individual category are:
- Primary school (9–12 years): top three winners receive RM200 each, an e-certificate and Pos Malaysia merchandise.
- Secondary school (13–15 years): top three winners receive RM200 each, an e-certificate and Pos Malaysia merchandise.
- Grand prize (selected from the top winners overall): RM800 and an e-certificate.
The grand prize winner will represent Malaysia at the international competition. Schools with the highest number of entries will receive an e-certificate of excellence.
Last year, 14-year-old Claire Chen Ching Yuan from Kuching, Sarawak, received a “Special Mention” in the international round.
To enter, students must:
- Download the registration form from https://www.pos.com.my/letter-writing-competition.
- Write the letter.
- Submit the letter and form by 5 pm on Monday, 13 April 2026, either by email to corpcomm@pos.com.my (with a clear scanned copy of the handwritten letter) or by post to:
