TikTok Launches Online Safety Workshops for Parents in Malaysia

TikTok has introduced #ThinkTwice Training, a set of workshops aimed at educating parents and community members on online safety for teenagers on April 2.

The workshops build on previous #ThinkTwice educational content in Malaysia.

The first workshops were held in partnership with the Communications and Multimedia Content Forum of Malaysia and the Parent Action Group for Education Malaysia.

TikTok Malaysia said the training covers Family Pairing, which allows parents to manage teen accounts with preset privacy and security settings.

The Content Forum said parents should use platform tools to guide teens online rather than restricting access.

PAGE said the program informs parents about safety features, including Screen Time Limit, Private Account, Restricted Mode, and Creator Care Mode.

Participants reported that the training emphasised guidance and open communication over account bans.
