National carmaker Proton announced record monthly domestic deliveries of 20,155 vehicles in August 2026, driving total group sales to 22,632 units.

Total group sales rose 22.7% month-on-month from July, marking the company’s highest overall monthly volume since January 2010.

Year-to-date sales reached 141,421 units across the first eight months of 2026, representing a 40.2% increase compared to the corresponding period in 2025.

Proton estimated its monthly market share at 27.9% of total industry volume, with year-to-date market share reaching 25.6%.

Model performance was led by the Saga at 7,347 units, while the S70 registered a monthly record of 3,235 units.

Electrified vehicle sales under the eMAS sub-brand totalled 6,047 units, led by 4,818 deliveries of the eMAS 5 model.
