LEGO Group said it turned Seoul’s Gwanghwamun Square into a playground with six million bricks during Children’s Week in South Korea.
LEGO Group said the event ran from May 2 to May 5 as part of Seoul’s fourth annual Gwanghwamun Family Festival. It said more than 1.3 million visitors attended.
LEGO Group said about 35,000 visitors built a 12-by-12-metre mosaic with five million bricks. It said the mosaic showed landmarks from Seoul’s 25 districts.
LEGO Group said it will donate one LEGO set for each person who helped build the mosaic. It said the sets will go to children in need of play in the local community.
LEGO Group stated it partnered with the Seoul Metropolitan Government for the event. It said General Manager HeeYoung Chung linked the donations to ongoing work with local organisations and hospitals in Korea.
LEGO Group reported that 92% of parents in South Korea said play mattered to family happiness and well-being. It said the figure came from its Play Well Study 2026.
