ASUS Republic of Gamers announced the ROG Crosshair 2006 in Taipei, Taiwan, on May 15, 2026, to mark 20 years since ROG created its first motherboard.
ASUS said the motherboard was a cousin of the Crosshair X870E Dark Hero. It said the design paid tribute to the first ROG motherboard.
ASUS said the board featured a dominant copper colour with small touches of blue and white. It said a 2-inch OLED on the first M.2 slot showed two exclusive animations.
ASUS said the motherboard featured 20+2+2 power stages. It also listed the ASUS AIO Q-Connector, server-grade DRAM enhancement, NitroPath DRAM Technology, and AEMP.
ASUS said the board included two PCIe 5.0 x16 slots and five M.2 slots. It said two M.2 slots supported PCIe 5.0 drives.
ASUS said the motherboard supported WiFi 7 and included 10G and 5G Ethernet ports. It also said the board offered a pair of onboard USB4 ports.
