Perodua Launches UCar-e App-Based Car Rental at Universities

Perodua launches its UCar-e app-based car rental service at three Malaysian universities in Rawang on June 2, 2026, to provide campus mobility for students and staff.

Perodua partnered with Universiti Utara Malaysia, Universiti Putra Malaysia and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology) to offer 50 vehicles for app-based use within university grounds.

Perodua President and Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad said users could locate designated vehicles via the app and return them to specific parking zones on campus.

He said Perodua and the universities would appoint students as vehicle management agents responsible for cleanliness, fuel levels and upkeep, who would receive commission-based payments.

He added that the service would begin in June 2026 in stages, depending on each university’s readiness and rollout schedule, as part of Perodua’s wider mobility services efforts.
