Insta360 Launches Leica-Co-Engineered Luna Ultra Gimbal Camera

Insta360 launches Luna Ultra, a Leica co-engineered dual-lens 8K gimbal camera, on June 10 for creators, with U.S. pricing starting at $769.99.

Insta360 said Luna Ultra features a 1-inch 8K sensor, a secondary telephoto lens with a 1/1.3-inch sensor, and dual Leica Summicron lenses. The company said the camera supports up to 12x zoom, including 6x lossless zoom.

Insta360 said Luna Ultra records 8K video at 30 frames per second with Dolby Vision and supports 10-bit I-Log capture. It said the device also supports 37MP photos and 200MP panoramic images.

The company said the camera weighs just over 200 grams and includes a detachable 2-inch OLED touchscreen, a 1,550mAh battery, and 47GB of usable built-in storage. It said the device supports up to 1TB of storage via microSD.

Insta360 said Luna Ultra is available from June 10 through its store, Amazon, Best Buy, and select retailers, with some markets to follow later. The company said it is offered in Cosmic Black and Stellar White

Insta360 said the partnership with Leica has spanned six years and five co-developed products.
