The Pokémon Company announced in Kuala Lumpur on June 16 a regional 30th-anniversary rollout across Asia, including city events, a run and Malaysia’s first Nintendo and Pokémon pop-up stores.

PokéXciting! will open in Kuala Lumpur on September 12-13 at KLCC Park with free admission. The event will include Malaysia’s first Pokémon drone show and live performances featuring a city-specific turquoise-costumed Pikachu.

The company said PokéXciting! is part of a five-city Asia tour covering Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Singapore, Manila and Bangkok. A related Pokémon GO event will also feature PokéXciting! Pikachu.

Pokémon RUN 30: Malaysia Edition is scheduled for November 21-22. The company said venue and time details would be announced later; participants will receive a runner’s kit including a UNIQLO-sponsored T-shirt.

KLCC (Holdings) partnered with The Pokémon Company for the celebrations. Ombak KLCC will host a limited-time Nintendo POP-UP STORE and Malaysia’s first Pokémon Centre POP-UP STORE from September 12 to end-December.
