IHG Expands Hotel Portfolio Across Greater China in 2026

IHG Hotels & Resorts plans multiple hotel openings across Greater China in the second half of 2026, adding properties in major cities, transport hubs and leisure destinations.

IHG said new openings would include InterContinental Shenzhen ICSZ, InterContinental Taipei and Holiday Inn Shanghai NECC, plus Holiday Inn Express hotels in Shenzhen Bay, Shanghai North Bund Riverside and Beijing Daxing Xihongmen. The company said these properties would serve business, convention and short-stay travellers in high-traffic urban markets.

Garner Hotels was set to open in Chongqing Jiefangbei and Wuxi Qingming Bridge, targeting conversion projects. Atwell properties in Guangzhou Pazhou, Nanjing Xinjiekou and Hangzhou Wulin would expand IHG’s lifestyle presence in key urban centres.

Kimpton Nine Trees Shanghai was expected to open in an emerging cultural district in Shanghai. New Hotel Indigo properties in Jingdezhen and Quanzhou Ancient Town, and Crowne Plaza Suzhou Taihu, would focus on locally influenced leisure and cultural stays.

EVEN Hotel Jingdezhen was planned to provide wellbeing-focused stays. IHG said it operated 14 brands in Greater China, with more than 1,500 hotels open and in the pipeline across more than 200 cities.
