IHG Hotels & Resorts launches a United States beta version of AI-powered conversational search on IHG.com and its mobile app on July 28 for global hotel bookings.
The functionality enabled users to input natural language prompts regarding destinations, preferences, and amenities for tailored recommendations across 7,000 properties. Results contained interactive maps, real-time availability, cash rates, points pricing, and property information grounded in verified data. IHG maintained its existing search system alongside the beta tool prior to planned global market expansions.
Chief Executive Officer Elie Maalouf stated the milestone resulted from strategic digital investments, including cloud data unification. The company announced plans to launch an AI-optimized content platform in the coming months for hotel floor plans and videos.
The release followed the company’s recent integration of an app on ChatGPT.
