Banyan Group opens Banyan Tree Mount Emei in China’s Sichuan Province on Aug. 3, 2026, expanding its flagship brand near the UNESCO World Heritage site.

The resort opened at the foothills of Mount Emei, offering access to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Mount Emei Scenic Area.

Inspiration for the property’s design came from traditional courtyard homes of western Sichuan integrated into a forested valley landscape.

Senior Vice President Philip Ding stated that Mount Emei holds significant cultural and ecological value as one of China’s Four Sacred Buddhist Mountains.
