BREGO Life Sciences and Sunway Medical Centre Penang have partnered to integrate AI software into routine chest X-ray screening workflows to identify osteoporosis risks.

Since April 2026, the hospital screened 2,954 individuals aged 21 and above using Acer Medical’s VeriOsteo OP software during general health screenings. Clinicians referred 81 identified patients for formal dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry assessments based on clinical reviews.

VeriOsteo OP functions as a decision-support tool rather than a diagnostic device. Treating clinicians review patient histories, medications, and risk factors before ordering diagnostic DEXA scans.
