Samsung Electronics added a 14-meter model to its Onyx cinema LED display lineup at CinemaCon 2026 on April 14. The new display is intended for Premium Large Format (PLF) theatres and joins the existing 5-meter and 10-meter versions.
The 14-meter model features a 3.3mm pixel pitch and supports 4K resolution at 120Hz. Its modular design allows expansion up to 20 meters by adding LED cabinets. The DCI-certified display reaches a peak brightness of 300 nits and supports both 2.39:1 and 1.85:1 aspect ratios.
Recent installations of the Onyx system include Pathé Dar Essalam in Rabat, Morocco, and Trilith Cinemas in Fayetteville, Georgia. Pathé currently operates 12 Onyx screens across its locations. The technology is compatible with Dolby and GDC media servers for theatre management.
