Apple names Johny Srouji hardware chief

Apple says Johny Srouji becomes its chief hardware officer effective immediately.

Apple announced on 21 April 2026 from Cupertino, California, that Srouji most recently served as senior vice president of Hardware Technologies. Apple said he now leads Hardware Engineering, which John Ternus most recently oversaw, as well as the hardware technologies organisation.

Apple attributed the change to its executive leadership announcement and included statements from Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook and incoming Chief Executive Officer John Ternus supporting the appointment. According to Apple, Srouji joined the company in 2008 to lead development of A4, which it described as its first Apple-designed system-on-a-chip.

Apple said Srouji previously held senior processor development and design roles at Intel and IBM. Apple said he holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in computer science from Technion, Israel Institute of Technology.
