Samsung unveils three kitchen appliances

Samsung Electronics says it unveils three new kitchen appliances on April 21, in Korea.

Samsung Electronics said the new products were the Bespoke AI Single 1Door Fridge & Freezer, the Bespoke AI Dishwasher, and the Extractor Induction Hob.

Samsung said the refrigerator and freezer could be used together or separately, depending on storage needs. The company said the units included a touch-based Auto Open Door feature and a flat-front design without a handle. Samsung also said the models used “AI Precise Cooling” through the SmartThings app to adjust defrost timing based on door-use patterns. The company said some models also used full-metal cooling panels on the rear wall and door surfaces to reduce temperature changes after the door opened.

Samsung said the dishwasher line included models that met A-20%, A-10%, A, and B grade levels under European energy standards, depending on model and region. The company said some models used an Active Fan Dry system that lowered rinse water temperature and increased air flow to reduce heating demand, though drying time could increase. Samsung said the dishwashers also used “AI Wash,” which relied on a turbidity sensor and a machine-learning algorithm to adjust wash and rinse times based on food particles detected during the cycle. The company said selected models included a third rack with space for cutlery, utensils, and up to six cups.

Samsung said the Extractor Induction Hob combined an induction cooktop and an extractor in one unit for kitchens where a standard hood may be harder to install. The company said the cooktop used anti-scratch glass with a Mohs hardness rating of 8, as determined by Intertek testing under ASTM C1895. Samsung said the hob also included “Flex Zone Plus,” which it described as a wide cooking area for larger or multiple pieces of cookware, with automatic cookware detection for pans with a minimum detectable base diameter of 14 centimetres. The company said the extractor reached up to 720 cubic meters per hour in Boost mode for up to five minutes and met A+ energy efficiency under EU Regulation No. 65/1024. Samsung also said the unit used a dishwasher-safe grease filter and a charcoal filter, which it recommended replacing every 6 months.
