Lenovo said it completes its acquisition of Phoenix Technologies’ firmware business in Dublin, Ireland, on April 27.
Lenovo Group said the deal included Phoenix Technologies’ BIOS technology business, related intellectual property, and expertise. Lenovo stated the acquisition brought firmware development in-house across its PC portfolio.
Lenovo said it and Phoenix Technologies had worked together for more than 20 years, and Phoenix had served as a BIOS vendor for Lenovo’s ThinkPad line.
Lenovo said the transaction closed after customary closing conditions were met. Lenovo stated it did not disclose financial terms.
