Xiaomi said it released its 2025 ESG report on April 29, detailing research spending, privacy controls, recycling activity, and energy use.

Xiaomi stated research and development spending totalled RMB33.1 billion in 2025, with 25,457 research staff, or 45% of its workforce. Xiaomi reported it recycled more than 2 million smartphones and bought more than 40 million kWh of green electricity in 2025.

Xiaomi said its facilities held ISO 27001 certification and its privacy systems held ISO 27701 certification. Xiaomi stated it answered data subject requests within 15 days worldwide and reported a 100% response rate.

Xiaomi said its EV and smart factory sites held ISO 50001 certification. Xiaomi reported logistics shifts from air to sea and rail, cutting emissions by about 2,471 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent in 2025.
