Apple Introduces New Features Across Services

Apple on June 9 announces new features across services, including Maps, Find My, Apple Pay, Podcasts, iCloud, Music, Sports and Fitness+, with software releases due this fall.

Apple said Maps will add enhanced Flyover views for select cities and Local Lists in the United States. Find My will add custom location-sharing durations and a unified Apple Watch app.

Apple said Apple Pay will get a redesigned online and in-app checkout experience, while Tap to Pay on iPhone will add Tap to Share for in-store information sharing. Customers will also be able to view basket items in real time and pay on iPhone without tapping again.

Apple said Podcasts will add video podcast support on macOS and tvOS and more precise search within shows. iCloud Shared Albums will add full-resolution sharing, more file types, emoji reactions, updated activity feeds and temporary albums.

Apple said Apple Music will expand Lyrics Translation and Lyrics Pronunciation and bring Hi-Res Lossless Audio to tvOS. Apple Sports will expand to more than 170 countries and regions, and Fitness+ introduced a three-week menopause program.

Apple said the features are available for testing through the Apple Developer Program starting June 9, with a public beta next month and free software updates due this fall.
