Lead Paragraph: IHG Hotels & Resorts said Kimpton Ashbel New York – Park Avenue opened on April 30 at 70 Park Avenue in Midtown Manhattan.

IHG said the hotel has 205 guestrooms, including 14 connecting rooms for families. IHG said the property is in a building that was first built in 1928 as the Doral Park Avenue Hotel.

IHG said the hotel sits near Grand Central Terminal and Bryant Park. IHG said the site marks Kimpton’s return to 70 Park Avenue after 22 years.

IHG stated the hotel includes Park & Bel, a café, and offers coffee, tea, beer and wine programs for guests. IHG said Kimpton now operates 85 hotels worldwide and has 67 more in its pipeline.
