Google Health Coach Expands Globally

Google announced that Google Health Coach will become globally available on May 19 through its Google Health Premium subscription.

Google stated the rollout would start on May 19 and reach full availability on May 26. Google said the service would cost $9.99 per month or $99 per year.

Google said Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers would receive Google Health Premium at no extra cost. Google reported the service would launch first for eligible Fitbit and Pixel Watch users.

Google said support for other devices would come later. Google stated that anyone could download the app and sign up for notifications.

Google announced the service would exit public preview after launching last year. Google said the coach uses Gemini models.

Google stated users can share goals, routines, equipment access, injuries, and lifestyle details during onboarding. Google said users can update goals later through conversation.

Google reported the coach uses shared data, including fitness, sleep, nutrition, cycle tracking, location, local weather, and medical records. Google said users choose how much context to share.

Google said the redesigned Today tab would show proactive insights. Google stated users can also use an “Ask Coach” feature at any time.

Google announced changes across the app’s Fitness, Sleep, and Health tabs. Google said users can create custom workouts, review sleep consistency, and request summaries of health records.

Google reported that cycle tracking, nutrition, and mental well-being features were redesigned. Google stated U.S. users can sync medical records and ask questions about them.

Google said the coach would suggest weekly fitness targets and daily workout focus. Google reported the app includes step-by-step workout guidance and logging by voice, images, or documents.

Google stated it worked with medical experts, clinicians, and in-house researchers on the product. Google said it would not use Fitbit users’ health and wellness data for Google Ads.
