Novo Nordisk Malaysia launches the “Sayang, Kan?” obesity awareness campaign in Kuala Lumpur on June 11, 2026, urging earlier, science-based, compassionate care.
Novo Nordisk Malaysia said more than half of Malaysian adults are living with overweight or obesity. The campaign called for conversations about obesity to focus on biology, health risks and treatment.
Speakers at the launch said obesity is a chronic disease linked to cardiovascular and other cardiometabolic conditions. They said food noise, visceral fat and delayed care complicate obesity management.
Novo Nordisk Malaysia said the campaign aims to encourage people living with obesity to seek medical advice earlier. The event included comments from Health Ministry officials, clinicians and chef Ili Sulaiman.
