LEGO, Koenigsegg Set Drivable Car Speed Record

LEGO Group and Koenigsegg said on June 18, 2026, a life-size drivable LEGO Technic Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear reached 111 km/h at Goodwood to mark a new product launch.

The companies said the car became the fastest drivable LEGO Technic big-build car, exceeding the previous 50 km/h record. Koenigsegg test driver Markus Lundh drove the vehicle.

The build used 327,906 LEGO elements, weighed about 1,800 kg, including 400 kg of LEGO elements, and took more than 9,400 hours to develop and construct. LEGO said it included working Ghost Mode and a Koenigsegg key.

LEGO said the 4,104-piece Technic Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear Megacar set, product number 42232, will be available to Insiders on July 1 and to the general public on July 4. It listed prices at £399.99, €449.99 and $449.99.

LEGO said buyers who purchase the set from July 1 to July 6 will receive a 228-piece steering wheel gift set, product number 40894, while stocks last. The model is the sixth in the Technic Ultimate Car Concept Series.
