Caltex Malaysia expands its eleventh Fuel Your School initiative to ten Perak schools on June 25, 2026, introducing smart aquaponics systems for STEM learning.
Caltex Malaysia partnered with the MyKasih Foundation and HAVVA Agrotech for the Education Ministry-endorsed project. The program previously launched aquaponics learning in Johor in 2024 and in Kelantan in 2025. This deployment marked the second time the initiative reached Perak since 2017.
The selected schools received automated water circulation aquaponics systems to grow vegetables, herbs, microgreens, and fruit plants. HAVVA Agrotech agreed to conduct food security workshops for students and teachers to manage the six-week harvest cycles. Local Caltex service station retail partners adopted each school to provide financial and collaborative support.
The initiative has impacted over 112,473 individuals across Malaysia since its 2012 inception. The aquaponics program produced 1,235 kilograms of vegetables and 210 kilograms of fish over the past two years. Country Chairman Leong Jee Wong stated the program shifts student engagement with science and provides food sustainability solutions.
