Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia unveils the all-new locally assembled Tayron seven-seater SUV in Kuala Lumpur on July 13, 2026, offering two distinct powertrain variants.

The automotive distributor launched the Elegance variant starting at RM189,890. The sportier R-Line variant opened for previews with an estimated price range up to RM269,000.

The manufacturer locally assembled both versions of the vehicle at its Pekan plant. The European New Car Assessment Programme awarded the SUV a maximum five-star safety rating.

The Elegance featured a 1.5-litre mild hybrid engine producing 150PS. The R-Line utilised a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine producing 265 PS and all-wheel drive.
