Mattel, Inc. announces a new Barbie doll collection and upcoming Netflix programming in El Segundo, California, to mark the 25th anniversary of Barbie in the Nutcracker.

Mattel Studios produced a new 45-minute animated special starring Barbie Malibu, Barbie Brooklyn, and Ken. The program features ballet-meets-hip-hop dance numbers.

The new special debuts on Netflix in November 2026. Netflix will also stream the original 2001 Barbie in the Nutcracker film starting in September 2026.

The new eight-toy line launches at retail locations this month. The products feature specific characters, poseable bodies, and transforming skirts.

A commemorative collector doll will launch on Amazon later this fall. Mattel also planned brand collaborations with companies including Bloch, Loungefly, and Funko.
